The basement (below the living room/kitchen/dining) was dark with a drop ceiling, mauve and white walls, flickering florescent lighting and realllllly nasty carpet.


We took out the florescents and replaced them with regular lights, removed the ceiling tiles and framing grid, put up insulation and added an extra 6 inches to the height.

I'm a drywalling queen! ;)

Sooo much better, brighter and not so "Silence of the Lambs".

It is now the kids' play area and tv/video game space - still needs organziation, but it's coming.
