Our Spokane, Washington Trip 2006
On Thursday, Oct. 5 - we ventured out on another road trip (just one day after getting back from San Diego). We headed north to Spokane, WA to visit Dave's family (minus Mark and Jaime - missed you!) Leaving at 3:30 AM we drove into Oregon, toward Idaho. Well, having never driven this way, we didn't realize that there was NOTHING for hours! We ended up at empty on the gas gauge - literally "chugging", with NOTHING in sight. It was a time of panic and prayer. We (even the kids) prayed that somehow God would "carry" our car to a place where we could fill up. I kid you not, just around the bend in the road, was this little stop - Burns Junction! We never would've noticed it, but it was our saving grace (the next stop was almost 2 hours away). We were more than happy to pay the $3.30/gallon - and from then on we filled up at every stop we made, even if we didn't need to. :)
